About Chronic Zing

So how did this all get started? It’s an interesting story. Josh Williams and Jason Spencer, along with a few other buddies began creating comedy videos in 1997. Surprised at how much fun it was to create completely ridiculous videos, we concocted the name Chronic Zing Entertainment and went to work.

From 1998-2002, we produced sketch comedy videos for our website, ChronicZing.com. Our first TV pilot, “The Chronic Zing Show” and our first feature “The Making of Fractured House” were also produced during that time. In 2003, Chronic Zing took a break from comedy shorts and focused on the development of a reality TV series, “Bill Across America.”

But no matter how much we tried to deny it, our hearts’ desires lay in stupid comedy. In October 2004 we premiered “Sausagehead” at the Show Me Digital Film Festival, where it was honored with a Best Picture award.  ”Sausagehead” was also honored with two 2006 Telly Awards for lighting and sound design, and it aired on the British TV network PROPELLER in May 2008. In 2005 Chronic Zing completed the bully-laden baseball comedy “Catch,” which was honored with an Aegis Award.

BUT… as the awards started rolling in we realized “HOLY CARP, we haven’t made a movie in three years!”  Not content to rest on our laurels (or lack thereof) we decided to make a fresh start.  We fearlessely wiped the old ChronicZing.com clean and started over with “THE ZING UNDERGROUND,” a new way to get the word out about our movies and allow our friends all over the world to assist us in our quest for fun films.

So don’t just sit there - SURF LIKE THERE’S NO TOMORROW, MAMAJAMMA.  Click the subscribe button and get involved with the Zing Underground.  Because knowing is half the battle.
